Christy grew up in Baton Rouge, and attended Louisiana State University where she received her B.A.J. in Journalism. She moved to Oregon to attend law school, and has practiced with the firm since its organization in 1994.

Christy spends her off hours with her son, her boyfriend and his children. They have 4 chickens, a guinea pig, a cat and a Standard Poodle, as well as various insects and spiders. Her other interests include gardening, reading, knitting (for family and for charity) and exploring the world of science with her son.
